Patti Dahl and Heartsong has been all about reinvention over the last two decades. They went from southern gospel, to country gospel and now have made a statement in the country blues gospel arena. It was not planned. They thought they could produce classic country sounds with steel and banjo forever. As the exposure grew and people began noticing Patti Dahl's vocal penchant for blues, a new evolving began purely from popular demand. It was an interesting ride with the change to country blues gospel. It was accepted in all denominations, from Baptist to Pentecostal! The inclusion of blues harp combined with fiddle and banjo made the new sound become reminiscent of blue grass (depending who you talked to.) This cross over of genre did not slow things down for the duo. They are busier than ever! Gracing the doors of over 1500 churches in the last two decades made Heartsong a household word east of the Mississippi.
