This album is the culmination of over five years of singing at Manfred Dreilich's studio. Manfred, my voice instructor, arranger, engineer, and friend, made every session an event. I sing all of the harmonies in the songs with three or four-part harmony. The most challenging was Franz Biebl's "Ave Maria." It has two choirs, one with four parts and one with three parts, plus the chants at the beginning and between the verses. Since I am a soprano, singing the bass parts was sometimes hilarious. Manfred and I laughed a lot during those sessions. I was so happy and honored when Manfred agreed to sing the tenor part on "The Prayer." What a voice! From a lyrics perspective, my favorite song is "The Prayer of St. Francis." Whatever our religious beliefs, we should all hold in our hearts the message of being an instrument of peace.
