"Transparent - easy to perceive or detect." That's one word that describes the vision Jon Cheyney and Quebec Gibbins had when mulling over their next attempt at a music project. "All we really care about is making something that represents who we are, where we come from, and most importantly we want this to be an honest representation at that," says Jon Cheyney of Coach. The idea of the Canton based 3-piece started in 2012 after the members of Jon and Q's second project, 'The Vinyl', went their separate ways. The two took a short break from music to clear their minds before coming back to their practice space ahead of the new year. They experimented with several different styles before settling on what you hear today. "We were always anxious to find the 'right' project. We kept falling in the rut of writing music and feeling like we had to release it right away. This resulted in us never really taking a deep look at who we were as artists and where we wanted to be. I feel confident saying that we found what we were looking for in this project" (Quebec). Then came the hardest part; finding a vocalist that shared the same passion, vision, and lifestyle that Jon and Q possessed. The two continued to write and demo new music before reconnecting with long-time friend, Derek Zuniga. "We always felt like Derek would be a good fit, but we never seemed to be at the same place at the same time," says Q. Derek jumped in and was able to enhance the band's sound right away. His soulful vocals and profound lyrics brought life to the music. The void was filled. Coach's debut EP, "Transparent" is out now; featuring six songs spanning from 2012 to the present day.
